Ball im Savoy
This operetta written by the Hungarian Jewish composer Paul Abraham premiered in Berlin with the Metropol Theater’s orchestra in 1932. It is a scintillating revue centered around love, sex and pasodoble. Revived at the Komische Oper Berlin 80 years after its world premiere, it has remained a box office hit ever since. This season for the last time, the curtains will be raised for this wild story of a newly-wed couple in high society whose fidelity will be put to the test.
It has been a joy to be part of this production since its revival on June 9th 2013. What an honer to work with people like Dagmar Manzel, Katharine Mehrling, Helmut Baumann Peter Renz, Agnes Zwierko, Christiane Oertel to name but a few of the wonderful colleagues I get to enjoy and learn from, every rehearsal and performance. I never tire watching them from the wings or engaging with them on on stage.
